Project Introduction:
The new Phuket Paradise store in Pudong is located in a bustling area surrounded by offices and residences. This project aims to create a warm and inviting oasis within the vibrant city, offering a serene escape for diners.
Design Concept:
Memory Slice – Andaman Sea Inspiration:
- The design is inspired by the designer’s vivid memories of the Andaman Sea in Phuket.
- These memories are visualized as “slices,” with each cross-section forming a frame of the tranquil and vibrant tropical environment.
Layered Experience:
Despite its modest size of 300㎡, the restaurant offers a multi-sensory dining journey:
- Outdoor Seating: Surrounded by rattan elements, the area resembles a tropical jungle, with diners semi-hidden among the “hanging vines.” At night, the dappled light and shadows enhance the space’s relaxing ambiance.
- Entrance – The Shoreline: The entrance mimics the delicate transition of a shoreline, inviting guests into the space.
- Interior – The Waves: The main dining area is wrapped in warm wood tones and intertwined with vibrant green accents. The ceiling undulates like waves of the Andaman Sea, offering varied dining experiences—some clear and open, others intimate and dreamlike.
Rattan and Tropical Atmosphere:
Rattan is used extensively to evoke a tropical setting, with textures that enhance the natural and organic feel.
Waves and Soundscapes:
The dining area evokes the sensation of sitting by the sea, where the subtle sounds of the kitchen mimic the soothing rhythm of waves crashing on the shore.
